RAIL-EX SOUTHWEST (TAUNTON) 2008

This year's Exhibition proved to be another very successful show, and although attendance was slightly down on last year's record attendance, the show drew people from all over the country. The secret is undoubtedly the high quality of the attending layouts. In addition we had a wide variety of Traders selling an excellent selection of goods at competitive prices. There was extensive parking and the vintage buses we provide from Taunton Station to the show are a big draw and much appreciated by the many hundreds of people that use them.

Although RAIL-EX SOUTHWEST is one of the largest shows in the country, it is also one of the friendliest and an ideal opportunity to meet up with old friends and make new ones! The atmosphere is always exceptional.

This year's winners of our three. trophies were as follows:

St. Christopher's Shield (Awarded for Best Layout in Show as voted for by 2 independent judges) - won by "Lulworth Military Railway & Westport Gas Works"
Chairman's Shield (Awarded by our Chairman, Duncan Robson for the best piece of individual modelling) - won by "Oro Grande Railroad" for a working model of the `American Hoist & Ditcher'.
Train World Cup (Provided by our Sponsors & voted by the public for Best Layout in Show) - Again won by "Lulworth Military Railway & Westport Gas Works"
The planning for next year's show is almost complete, so we hope you will visit us on Saturday 10th or Sunday llth October 2009!!
